Platform Communications

Cobham Defence Communication’s product portfolio is designed for hostile environments and is available for a range of uses from light vehicle systems to complex networked command posts. System interoperability and common parts minimize costs while serving a large cross section of applications to cover most military vehicle communications requirements.

Cobham Defence Communications has installed over 100,000 systems for 18 customers across the world. Few other modern digital intercom system providers have achieved such successful market penetration. The success is a result of the superior design, supply, installation, and support of the ROVIS (AN VIC 3), the Light Vehicle Variant intercom (LV2), and now, the new TacG2 intercom system.

All Cobham intercoms are interchangeable to provide customers the flexibility to upgrade their vehicular intercoms as and how needed. This also provides customers with longevity in terms of ILS support, which is second to none.

The Cobham intercom portfolio is described below.

Light Vehicle Systems

The LV2 is a rugged system that is typically used in small platforms such as HMMWV's or RIB's. The LV2 product has been very popular with ROVIS customers with sales currently exceeding 60,000 systems to over 15 countries. The system maintains many of the ROVIS features critical in smaller vehicles. The system is expandable, but comes small and light and consumes very little power.

Medium/Heavy Vehicle Systems

The centerpiece of the Cobham product range is the field-proven ROVIS (AN VIC 3). Cobham has installed over 40,000 systems in over 15 countries. The system provides exceptional levels of safety and functionality and can be tailored to differing platform requirements

Command Post / Networking

Building on the success and experience gained from the ROVIS family of intercoms, CDC developed the next generation of intercom systems with extensive expandability to meet the changing requirements of the 21st century. The new TacG2 Intercom system provides enhances functionality and user features while maintaining the key benefits from the ROVIS AN VIC 3 system.

TacG2 now provides functionality from light/heavy armored vehicles through to IP based network command posts, offering addressable assets allowing greater access and control to individual crew members. Now Inter-vehicle connection is available by connecting the Master Stations together using ethernet cabling.
